J24 a Taranto: working progress

Buon giorno Andrea e Vittorio da Team Ambra and good morning Tim.

Here we have last regatta report.
During the mid march week end (19th) here in Taranto (South Italy) we had last races of the South Italy Championship.
Ambra, suffering the very light breezes during all Championship (started on 11 Nov 2011), finally had very shifting 8-12 Kts wind for her new Quantum Sails and “well weighted” crew.
Two races took place with Ambra starts at the pin conducting the fleet, together with first 3 boats to the first mark, and turning that mark in first position (with more than 20-30 mtrs on the other) during the race 2 (we don’t know if this was due to our QS set but finally some smiles appeared on Ambra Team faces…).
After that we hoisted our old heavy wind spinnaker (coming from an old sails set of another sails maker, full of tape repairs) for a very painful downwind leg where our first position became 2nd and finally 4th in both races (damn*@#§!!).
Therefore an almost bad Sunday if we except the good sensation we received in first and third legs were our speed and our pointing were superb and our boat on top.
For the future we absolutely need a good QS spinnaker for downwind legs (as well as a genoa light) !! And for that next week we will increase our sponsor research.

If you need more on Ambra Team sails please go to :

and visit “Le nostre Vele” and “Gli Sponsor Tecnici” (soon to come some English versions)

Many thanks again guys for your sponsor and your kind assistance (special thanks to Andrea and Vittorio!)

Next race will be “Trofeo Accademia Navale” so see you soon.

Forza Quantum Sails e 11th Hour Racing!

Bye
Marc & Ambra Team.
